Next conference of the cycle „Poland-India. Business cooperation prospects. Expectations, opportunities and challenges for the development of economic relations” was held on 18 March 2014 in the Session Hall of Wrocław City Council. The conference was organized by the Polish-Indian Chamber of Commerce, Wrocław Agglomeration Development Agency and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. The main partner of the meeting was Polish Chamber of Commerce, represented by the senior advisor of the PCC Office of International Cooperation Mr Tadeusz Świątkowski, while Von Zanthier & Schulz was its main sponsor. The conference in Wrocław was held in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and India. The cycle is covered by the honorary patronage of the deputy prime minister of economy Janusz Piechociński.

Each conference includes the presentation of the characteristics of the Indian market, the recommended areas of cooperation, Polish – Indian economic relations, legal – tax aspects of trade with India, as well as the presentation of cultural differences in business.  The lectures on these subjects were given by: Lucyna Jaremczuk – Leading Specialist in the Department of Promotion and Bilateral Cooperation in the Ministry of Economy, Antoni Miklaszewski – the head of the Economic Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi between 2007 and 2010, Joanna Witkiewicz – legal advisor in VON ZANTHIER & SCHULZ and Aleksandra Jaskólska, who represented the Centre for Contemporary India Research and Studies at the Institute of International Relations of the University of Warsaw.

A case study, which is an application of the theory into practice, is also a permanent part of the program.  Companies that are an example of effective economic cooperation between Poland and India were represented by Piotr Szwarc- President of Komandor Wrocław S.A., Piyush Mittal- President of Vermilion Consulting Sp. z o.o., the director of Pałac Sulisław and Radio Nysa, Jarosław Nawrocki- legal advisor of Geofizyka Toruń S.A. and Stanisław Wszelaki- the member of the board  of Flex Films Europa Sp. z o.o.

We are confident that both conference in Wroclaw and other meetings of the cycle „Poland-India. Business cooperation prospects. Expectations, opportunities and challenges for the development of economic relations” are an excellent opportunity to learn about the basics of business in the Indian market. We believe that the conferences will be the first step towards establishing business cooperation with partners from India.
